The Proper IM Mindstate

Aloha! Jason Fladlien, a.k.a. J. Flad, here from DailySeminar.com, talking with you today on the proper internet marketing mind state to have to get the best results in your business.

And all kidding aside here, this is the most important stuff. Jim Rohn – I listen to him, and you’ll see this quote here in this seminar – he once said, “Work harder on yourself than you do in your business” or “work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” So most people will spend 8 hours a day working for somebody else, and then they’ll go home and do nothing. So they’ll put more time into their job than they will into improving themselves. And that’s sad, because once you build skills they transfer into all areas of your life.

And this is another interesting thing. Most people think the difference between a successful person and a failure is like 80 percent. Like a successful person does 80 percent of stuff differently than a failure, and really the opposite’s true. It’s only a handful of small, daily tasks that separates a successful person from a failure. A successful person doesn’t procrastinate; they typically get on with it. And then they usually are interested in feedback more than the result; and they’re confident in their ability, and they’re solution-oriented and able to adapt quickly when stuff happens and respond positively. And really that’s about it. That’s the only difference. It’s not that they’re more intelligent than a failure. It’s not that they have opportunities that a failure doesn’t have or all these other things. It’s just really they just do a couple habits differently and that dictates all the results.

Online Marketing Psychology and Building Customer Trust

One of the most important concepts in copywriting and sales is understanding how your customer thinks and feels. You can’t sell to them very well if you don’t know what they need, fear, and hope for. If only we had a crystal ball, we could sell to just about any customer that came our way.

Unfortunately, we don’t have anything like that. At the same time, we can consider ourselves lucky because there are certain aspects of human psychology that are nearly universal. When we understand these principles of psychology, we can better connect with our customers and increase conversion rates.

Many Internet marketing sales pages incorporate the same tired elements in a formulaic way. These marketers use and re-use concepts they’ve seen work for others. There’s a reason these elements of sales copy work–but there’s also a reason to think outside the box and do things a little bit differently. Understand your customer and you’ll understand what to put on your sales page, whether it’s a commonly used concept or not.

Why You Procrastinate

A huge part of managing your time better is understanding that you procrastinate and why you procrastinate.

In surveying many of the professionals and entrepreneurs I work with on a daily basis, I hear time and time again that procrastination is the biggest issue when it comes to time management. People get frustrated with themselves because they have a bad habit of procrastinating. They don’t want to procrastinate, yet it’s their default.

Consider whether these statements are true for you:

Do you put projects off, even though you know you should be working on them right away?

Do you find that you get nervous about starting a project because it seems way too difficult to finish?
