Start a Facebook Group, part 1

I started running a Facebook group even though I had never done much with Facebook personally. I was intrigued with the idea of a group that would add value to the Earn 1K A Day membership forum I already had. When I saw my friend, Barb Ling, start her Facebook group and get a lot out of it, I gave it more thought.

I first considered starting a low-cost paid Facebook group. But, I decided not to charge for my Facebook group in the end. I decided to make it free and accessible beyond Earn 1K A Day. I hoped it would be an enticement for new people to begin to know, like, and trust me. And eventually, I hoped that people would jump over to become paid Earn 1K A Day members.

Other people have the traffic you want. It’s one of the most frustrating things in the world. Here you are, writing great content and really working hard to deliver to your audience.

But, you look around you and no one is paying attention to what you’re doing. It’s a fact of being a blogger or marketer on the web, honestly. It can be really hard to get anyone to pay attention to you, especially in the beginning.

Heck, it can be hard to get anyone to pay attention to what you’re doing, writing, and promoting even if you’re a seasoned marketer. They always say, “build it, and they will come,” but it doesn’t really work that way.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re new or really experienced, you have to try hard to get traffic. You have to keep up with new methods of getting traffic and evergreen methods of getting traffic alike.

You are creating an affiliate review site. That means you’re going to have to get good at writing review articles.

To do this, I recommend you get your hands on the product you’re promoting. This is easier to do with digital products than it is for physical products.

As an affiliate, you can often ask for the digital product from the product creator for free for your review and promotion, or you can often get a discount on it. Even if you can’t, digital products are worth paying for if you know that you can at least recoup your investment by being an affiliate.

Choosing a Domain Name For Your Affiliate Review Site

After you’ve decided what type of website you’re going to create, it’s time to choose a domain name.

You don’t want to choose a domain name that contains a trademark. You do want to choose something that is representative of the product or the types of products you will be reviewing.

Think about the successful review websites out there and the types of domain names they have chosen. What you choose should be related to searches those interested in your niche will enter and want to click on when they see your website in the search results.

If you are using something like Blogger.com, you’ll choose a URL right there, for free—choose wisely, even for a free URL.

How to Set Up an Affiliate Review Site

As an affiliate marketer, you’ll probably want to set up an affiliate review site sooner or later. There are a few different reasons why this might be the case.

For one thing, many companies that allow you to promote their products as an affiliate require you to have an affiliate review site for them to check out. They want to make sure you are a legitimate affiliate.

They want to make sure that you understand their target audience. There are, unfortunately, some affiliates out there who scam companies… which has led to a crackdown on applications that might require you to have a website.
