There are no two ways about it— writing articles is a key part of just about any online business. It’s how you connect with your audience, feed the search engines, cement yourself as an expert, inform people, and help people make buying decisions. It’s also how you can drive a heck of a lot of traffic.

That doesn’t mean writing articles is all that much fun. Some people enjoy it more than others, and still others enjoy it not at all. Some people would enjoy writing articles; except they don’t feel they are skilled enough to do a good job. They want to succeed with Internet marketing but hadn’t considered that writing is often such a big part of it.

If you do have a fear of writing articles, it’s time to crush that fear. If you just avoid writing articles, it’s time to get over that, because you’re only hurting your own business. Psychiatrists use a technique called flooding. Essentially, they present a phobic person with an abundance of something that represents a fear that prohibits them from living their life. They flood them with the sensation until they suddenly don’t fear it at all.

Officially Getting Started with LinkedIn Groups

Now that you’ve done some exploring, it’s time to go ahead and get started with your own LinkedIn group. To create a group, move your cursor to the top of your home page and select groups. Move your cursor over interests at the top of the page. Click the Create A Group button on the right. Fill out the information LinkedIn requests.

You can create your group as an open group or as a members only group. Think about the goals you want for your group, how quickly you want to grow, and how much control you want to have over the group. There is no one correct answer as to which you should select.

Since you are the manager of the group, you can invite others from the send invitations page within the group. Move your cursor over interests at the top of your home page and select groups. Click the group’s name and click the manage tab. Click send invitations on the left and choose one of the options. To manage your group, move your cursor over interests and select groups. Pick your group’s name and click the manage tab. Click one of the various links on the left to manage your group. LinkedIn makes it pretty easy to create and manage your group. But, it’s the actual day-to-day interaction that’s the most important. You’ll need to make a daily schedule and habit of interacting with your group.

LinkedIn is a fantastic social media site that’s great for business-to-business communication. What a lot of people don’t realize is that there is a lot to do on LinkedIn besides just creating a profile. Since you are interested in making the most of social marketing, I highly recommend that you create your own LinkedIn community, called groups on LinkedIn, to really boost your business.

LinkedIn is really best for business-to-business. If you’re unsure if that applies to you, I suggest you do a search through LinkedIn groups to see if there’s anything present for your niche already. If there isn’t, then LinkedIn groups may not be the best fit for you. If there is, then there is most likely room for you. Don’t worry if LinkedIn is not a great fit for you, you certainly should still have a profile up on LinkedIn. You can definitely make use of social marketing using a different platform. But if it is a good fit for you, then you can really benefit because LinkedIn groups can give you a lot of exposure.
