The Fear of Failure and Success and the Habit Connection

There’s a huge part of habit change that people often neglect to think about—the fear of failure and the fear of success. Why should you try to change a bad habit if you’ve tried and failed dozens of times before?

Why should you try to change if it’s going to be really uncomfortable, different, and weird if you succeed? Your whole view of yourself has to change, whether you succeed or fail. It almost seems like it’s not worth it.

It’s time to move past that mindset—it’s a huge part of what’s really holding you back.

GPT-5 for Faster Marketing Profits

When ChatGPT first hit the scene, it was a game changer for online business owners who wanted faster, cheaper ways to create content. The early versions could draft a blog post or social update in seconds, something that used to take hours.

But like any new tool, those first releases had limits. You’d often have to break your request into smaller pieces or reword your prompt multiple times just to get what you needed. It was helpful, but it wasn’t perfect. You could get decent work done, but you still had to put in a fair amount of editing and guiding to make it usable.

GPT-5 is now available and can follow multi-step instructions in one pass, and output ready-to-use material across every part of your marketing. The edge goes to the people who adopt the improvements early, while everyone else is still spending their days trying to make yesterday’s tools do today’s work. The longer you wait to make that shift, the more time, traffic, and sales you leave on the table.

Parkinson’s Law

You know it’s important to set goals for yourself and to work to achieve those goals. The problem is that you may have been working toward the same things for weeks, months, or even years. It’s not at all uncommon for me to hear that someone has been trying to start or succeed with a web business but hasn’t made any real progress over the course of several years.

If that strikes close to home for you, know that you’re not alone. For a variety of reasons, I didn’t find true success in online business right away either. Mindset has a lot to do with it, along with time management.

A huge part of the problem for many people has to do with a lack of deadline when working for oneself. I fully realize that even hearing the word “deadline” might make you cringe. You’re running your own business so you don’t have to deal with deadlines, and now I’m telling you that you need them?

Crazy, right?
