Wouldn’t it be terrible if your goal in life was to climb an incredible, beautiful, challenging mountain? You’d know starting out that it’s going to be challenging, but it would be worth it.
You see some beautiful sights along the way and you feel really motivated—especially in the beginning. But knowing that there will be obstacles and then dealing with the reality of it is a different thing.
Your motivation starts to wane, but you truck along. Finally, you’re tired of struggling and you’re not even sure you’ll ever reach the top of that mountain.
So, you give up.
What you didn’t realize is that you just couldn’t see the peak, but it was right there… if you’d only kept going a few more steps, you would have made it—you would have achieved what you’d set out to do. But, you gave up.
