Motivating Your Coaching Clients to Succeed Based on Their Needs

I want to spend some time on motivation because it will always be one of the biggest hurdles you face as a coach. How do you get people to do things they couldn’t motivate themselves to do on their own?

Why People Won’t Just Do What You Want Them To

If people would just do what was good for them, you’d be out of a job. I don’t mean to be flippant about it, but it’s the truth. You have to become an expert at motivating people, because, quite honestly, that might be all that your client needs.

Your goal isn’t just to get them to follow what you say right now, though that’s the most many coaches can hope for. Your goal is to give them a whole new set of skills they can use to succeed and stay motivated for the rest of their lives. That’s the mark of a true, life-changing coach. You have to motivate and inspire people to success.
