Your Checklist System:  The Segments

There are some specific things you’ll want to include in your checklists.  I’ve identified 10 “components” of an effective checklist system.

SIDEBAR: You may not use ALL of these parts in every checklist.  Mix and match them as they apply.

  1. Chronological Steps. The first part of an effective checklist is what I’ve labeled “chronological steps”. In other words, you would outline a step-by-step plan for accomplishing the activity in the order each step occurs.

Your chronological steps are the foundation of your checklist.  They ensure that you get everything done  – and you get everything done in the proper sequence.

Mining Your List For Affiliate Commissions – Strategy #1: “The Resource”, part 2

Let’s pick up where we left off last time…

  1. USE VARIETY IN YOUR DELIVERY.

The first thing you want to do is use variety in your delivery.  And what I mean by that is use two different kinds of mailings in giving away these free resources:  scheduled and unscheduled.

Obviously, as you find new free resources that fit the criteria we’ve talked about, you’ll want to pass them on to your list.  Specifically, you’ll want to do this when the resources are first released because they are new and unseen, and if there is a deadline that accompanies the resource you’d want to pass it on as quickly as possible.

  1. Contest

The idea here is to offer a free contest where entrants have a chance to win your products.  Here are three tips for optimizing this freemium strategy:

TIP: Get people excited about your products. For example, have people create a 15-second commercial about your products, or have them write a Haiku poem about them. Then have your visitors vote for the best entries.

TIP: Give “runners up” a discount coupon. After you award your prizes, give all entrants a limited-time coupon that gives them a discount off your most popular products. This tip is especially powerful in combination with the previous tip, because then entrants have already put plenty of thought into the benefits of your products.

TIP: Give extra entries using Rafflecopter.com. This tool lets you give extra entries for performing specific actions, such as spreading the word on Facebook or other social media platforms. It’s a great way to make your contest go viral.

Just be sure to check the rules and regulations in your location so that your contest is legal. Here are a few contest examples:
