Setting Up an Affiliate Attack Plan

There are three basic groups of partners who will join your affiliate program over time…

GROUP ONE: A minority of your affiliates are going to know exactly what to do to promote your offer and make a lot of sales. Generally, these are your super affiliates, who are probably the guys and gals you handpicked and personally invited into your affiliate program. These folks make a ton of sales no matter what they’re promoting.

GROUP TWO: Then you have another group of affiliates who do some promotion, but only the basics or the bare minimum. These are the affiliates who send out one or two emails, and maybe they post something on their blog. These folks make very few sales–maybe only one or two–certainly not as many as they could be making if they had a solid plan.

Networking and Marketing Yourself as an Expert for More JV Opportunities

Networking as an Expert

If you want to open yourself up to more joint venture opportunities, then it’s important to market yourself as an expert. Remember that you want to become known in your field. You want other experts to consider you an expert. You want some of them to turn to you when they have questions on topics related to your specific area of expertise.

There’s a phenomenon where the more you associate with other experts, the more you are perceived as an expert yourself. In fact, if you could get a few experts to declare that you’re the next best expert that people need to watch and follow immediately, others would instantly perceive you in that way— it’s instant credibility. That’s the power of association. It wouldn’t matter what you actually know, only that other people who are known have vouched for you.

Ending an Unprofitable or Bad JV Relationship

You have really high hopes for the joint venture relationships you enter into. You hope they’ll help you establish new contacts, grow your list, and earn more money. Ideally, the people you work with will be a good match. But, what happens if they’re not?

This does happen sometimes– for a variety of reasons. Maybe you’ve even experienced it yourself. Maybe the JV relationship needed to end because it was a bad fit. Or maybe it needed to end because the other person wasn’t willing to put in equal work. Or maybe it needed to end for an entirely different reason.

Maybe you haven’t yet experienced this and you’re actually scared to enter into a JV relationship at all because of the thought that it might not be all rosy. You know that you’re holding yourself back– but you’re sort of okay with that because of all that can go wrong.
